Alces Alces (Moose) is an ongoing project that began in the fall of 2016, documenting a series of moose hunts led by female hunters in Vermont. This work explores questions about our relationship with food, the lives of the animals we eat, the immediate environment we live in, and our own mortality. The exhibition is the culmination of Brittany Powell's year-long position as a Staff-Artist at the Vermont Studio Center.
Brittany M. Powell is a photo and video artist from San Francisco, CA. Her work has been featured in National Geographic, the Washington Post, the Huffington Post and Chronicle Books.
