Amy Yoes (b. 1959) grew up in Houston and attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been featured in many venues, including the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.; MASSMoCa in North Adams, MA; the Carpenter Center for the Arts in Cambridge, MA; the Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas; and the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio. Yoes has been an artist-in-residence at the Maison Dora Maar in Ménerbes, France; AIR in Krems, Austria; MacDowell Colony, in Peterborough, NH; Yaddo in Saratoga Springs, NY; and The British Academy at Rome, Italy. She has been a visiting artist at many institutions, including the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; University of Nevada, Las Vegas; Maryland Institute College of Art; and the Siena Art Institute, Italy. She is the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, a New York Foundation for the Arts Award, and Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation Award, among many others. Amy Yoes currently lives and works in New York.
