Judith Linhares’ paintings have been the subject of 40 one-person exhibitions. Riptide, 2011, Rowing In Eden, 2006, and Sweet Talk, 2002, at Edward Thorp Gallery as well as a survey Dangerous Pleasures 1973-1993 received numerous review. Marcia Tuckers’ inclusion of her paintings in the Landmark Bad Painting and Venice Biennale encouraged this fourth –generation Californian to ride the New Figuration wave to New York City. She has received three National Endowment Awards, Guggenheim Fellowship, Polllock-Krasner, Anonymous Was A Woman, and Joan Mitchell award and honored by the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
