Visiting Artist: Judith Simonian

Judith Simonian is a painter who was born in Los Angeles and currently lives and works in New York City.  She is a 2014 recipient of the Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, and will be the Dora Maar artist in residence in the south of France in Fall 2015. Other awards include NEA fellowships, Gottlieb Foundation Grants, and a California Confederation of the Arts Grant.  Represented in New York City by Edward Thorp Gallery and in Hudson, NY by John Davis gallery, she exhibits her work in museums and galleries internationally. She is an adjunct professor at Cooper Union and has taught at St. Michael's College in Vermont, at Claremont Graduate School in California, and at University of California, Long Beach.
