Visiting Artist: Rosemarie Fiore

Rosemarie Fiore is a New York-based sculptor who typically produces artwork out of the actions of mechanisms. By using popular technologies such as lawn mowers, cars, waffle irons, floor polishers, pinball machines, fireworks, and more, she transforms them into painting machines. Fiore received a BA from the University of Virginia, at Charlottesville and an MFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has been the recipient of grants through The New York Foundation for the Arts, The New York State Council for the Arts, The Sally and Milton Avery Foundation, The Bronx Council on the Arts, The Marie Walsh Sharpe Foundation, The Lower East Side Print Shop, in NY, and The Dieu Donne Paper Mill, in NY.
Her solo and group exhibitions include, but are not limited to, The SCAD Museum of Art, in Savannah, GA; the SCAD Atlanta Gallery; the SCAD Hong Kong Gallery; Winkleman Gallery, in NY; The VCUarts Anderson Gallery; Grand Arts, in Kansas City; and The Bronx Museum, in NY.
