Thomas Butter has exhibited in NYC and internationally since 1980. His work resides in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Walker Art Center, and others. Butter's work has been reviewed in Art in America, Artforum, The New York Times, The New Yorker, ArtNews, and more. Recipient of three NEA Grants and two NY Foundation Grants, he has been a faculty member at RISD, Tyler, Yale, Harvard, University of the Arts, Boston Museum School, Brooklyn College, and others. Since 1988, he has taught at Parsons The New School for Design in the Fine Arts Dept, and served as Director of the MFA Program from ’06-’07.
