Jim MacDowell

Jim studied Art, Architecture and Economics at Middlebury College receiving a BA in 1989. During the 1990's Jim was an innovator in the fledgling snowboarding industry, designing and constructing snowboarding terrain parks and halfpipes in Colorado, he attended University of Denver's Daniels College of Business receiving an MBA in 1997. Later that same year, Jim was hired by Smugglers' Notch Resort in Vermont to design and build skier and snowboarder facilities and develop the resort's on-hill events. Jim was a VSC Vermont Week resident in 2001 and returned the following Spring to manage the VSC physical plant. He lives in Johnson with his wife and two daughters.

GREGORY AMENOFF

Gregory Amenoff (b. 1948) is a painter who lives in New York and New Mexico. He is the recipient of numerous awards from organizations including the American Academy of Arts and Letters, National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts and Tiffany Foundation. His work is in the permanent collections of more than thirty museums, including the Whitney Museum of America Art, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He served as President of the National Academy of Design from 2001-2005. He serves on the Board of Directors of the CUE Art Foundation and as the Foundation Curator Governor. Amenoff has taught at Columbia for the last fifteen years, where he holds the Eve and Herman Gelman Chair of Visual Arts.

LEONARDO DREW

Vermont Studio Center Visiting Artist

(b. 1969), BFA Cooper Union in 1985. Drew has shown in institutions such as the Hirschhorn, the Smithsonian, the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin, Art Institute of Chicago, Miami Art Museum, and St. Louis Art Museum. He has also collaborated with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company and has participated in artist residencies at ArtPace, San Antonio, The Studio Museum of Harlem, and the Vermont Studio Center, in the spring of 1990. He divides his time between New York and Texas.
