for the air and in between features a series of sculptural drawings that live within the context of painting, drawing, and sculpture. The work explores the illusions of perception and consciousness and is inspired by the unknown. The exhibition is the culmination of Nicole Czapinski's year and a half long position as a Staff-Artist at the Vermont Studio Center.
Nicole Czapinski received a BA from Bennington College, Bennington, VT. She’s had solo exhibitions at 707 Gallery in Pittsburgh, PA, the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, and Bennington College. Her work has been included in the Pittsburgh Biennial as well as numerous group shows throughout the US. She’s been awarded residencies through the Hemera Foundation, Vermont Studio Center, and Idea Furnace at the Pittsburgh Glass Center and will be moving her studio practice to North Adams, MA to participate in the Assets for Artists program at MASS MoCA this fall.
