“Extending the Socratic examination to the realm of the senses, the anxious eye takes in a series of moments, a stream of light. In making these monotypes, I have tried to conjure the spirits of the dead and living masters—to crack open a path to mystery, and lovingly do justice and violence to nature.”
Ron Prigat was born in Jerusalem, Israel. He studied at the Jerusalem Studio School master class, graduating in 2014, and attended the JSS in Civita landscape painting program in the summers of 2012 – 2015 and 2017. Ron received an MFA from the University of New Hampshire in 2018. Ron is currently employed as a staff artist at the Vermont Studio Center and teaches painting at Northern Vermont University.
