David Hess’s work can be found in numerous private and public collections including the American Visionary Art Museum, Baltimore Museum of Industry, Johns Hopkins Hospital, Sinai Hospital, Thurgood Marshall Airport, KaiserPermanente, and the Emerson Corporation. He has completed over 15 large-scale public art projects, including Service Road, Bird's Nest, Momentum Study, and Homophone.
Hess (born 1964, Baltimore, MD) has been awarded Craftsman of the Year for Ornamental Ironwork by the Building Congress and Exchange, the Ames Prize for Art, the Marcus Heiman Award, and twice was the Grand Prize Winner, East Coast Final, Kinetic Sculpture Race, Baltimore, MD.
A practicing artist since 1986, Hess attended Dartmouth College, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Studies, and graduated Cum Laude.
