Visiting Artist: Diana Al-Hadid

Diana Al-Hadid (b. 1981, Aleppo, Syria) received a BFA in Sculpture and a BA in Art History from Kent State University in 2003, and an MFA in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2005. She also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2007. She has been the recipient of a Joan Mitchell Grant, a Louis Comfort Tiffany Grant, a USA Rockefeller Fellowship, a New York Foundation for the Arts Grant, and a Pollack-Krasner Grant. Her work is included in the collections of the DeCordova Museum and Sculpture Park, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the Weatherspoon Art Museum, NC, and The Judith Rothschild Foundation. Al-Hadid's solo exhibitions include the OHWOW Gallery, The Vienna Secession, Columbus College of Art and Design, Marianne Boesky Gallery, Akron Museum of Art,  Savannah College of Art and Design, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, Nasher Sculpture Center, Centro de Arte Contemporánea, La Conservera, Nevada Museum of Art, and the Hammer Museum. Diana Al-Hadid currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
