Frances Barth (b. 1946, Bronx, NY) received a BFA and MA from Hunter College. Recent solo exhibitions of the artist’s work have been featured at Silas Von Morisse Gallery, New York; Sundaram Tagore Gallery, Hong Kong and Los Angeles; and Marcia Wood Gallery in Atlanta. Group exhibitions include Jam Session at NeueHouse and Sitings/Citings at Lennon Weinberg Gallery, both in New York City, and Frontiers Reimagined for the 56th Venice Biennale at Museo di Palazzo Griman. Her awards include two National Endowment for the Arts grants, a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Joan Mitchell Foundation grant, an Adolphe and Esther Gottlieb Individual Support Grant, two American Academy of Arts and Letters Purchase awards, the Anonymous Was a Woman grant and a Pollock-Krasner grant. She is Director Emeritus of the Mt. Royal School of Art at The Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore.
