Gideon Bok received his MFA from Yale University in 1996 and his BA from Hampshire College in 1992. He was the recipient of a the A.R.T. Award, from the Berkshire Taconic Foundation in 2011; a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2004; and the Hassam Speicher, Betts, and Symons Fund Purchase Award through the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2005. He has had exhibitions at the Alpha Gallery in Boston, where he has representation; the Steven Harvey Fine Art Projects in New York; Schlesinger Gallery in New York; Plane Space Gallery, in New York; the University of Southern Maine Gallery in Gorham, ME; Space Gallery, in Portland, Maine; and the Center for Maine Contemporary Art, in Rockland, ME, among others. Bok is currently an Assistant Professor of Painting at Boston University.
