Jessica Rath (b. 1968, Charleston, West Virginia) received an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts, and a BA in Sociology and Art at the University of Missouri. Recent solo exhibitions include a better nectar at the Hand Art Center & Gillespie Earth Science Museum at Stetson University in Florida and the College of New Jersey in Trenton; take me to the apple breeder at El Dorado Arts Council in Placierville, California, Jack Hanley Gallery, and Pasadena Museum of California Art. Group exhibitions featuring the artist’s work have been held at Klaus Von Nichtssagend Gallery, the Boca Museum of Art in Florida, Carter and Citizen in Los Angeles, Flag Art Foundation in New York, and the Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis. Rath’s work has been reviewed in Artillery, LA Weekly, ArtLtd, Smithsonian Magazine, The New York Times, and Artforum, among many others. The artist lives and works in Los Angeles.
