Joanna Malinowska (b. 1972, Gdynia, Poland) received her BFA from Rutgers University and MFA from Yale University, with concentrations in sculpture. Her works have been displayed at SculptureCenter, Art in General and Postmasters in New York, Saatchi Gallery and Nottingham Contemporary in Great Britain, Yokohama Museum of Art in Japan, Espace Culturel Louis Vuitton in Paris, Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle and Zachęta National Art Gallery in Warsaw. Malinowska participated in the First Art Biennale in Moscow, the 2012 Whitney Biennial in New York, and represented Poland in the 2015 Venice Biennale, among other venues.
Malinowska has been an artist in residence at the Smack Mellon Studio Program, the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and has received awards from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, and the New York Foundation of the Arts, among others. She is represented by CANADA gallery in New York City.
