Joseph Salerno is a painter based in Vermont. He received his BFA from Kent State University and his MFA from Indiana University. He has had numerous solo exhibitions including the Vermont Metro Gallery in Burlington, VT in 2015, and Julie Heller East in Provincetown in 2014. He has participated in many group shows across the U.S. including the Butler Institute of American Art, the Creative Artist Workshop, Oxbow Gallery, and most recently, “Strange Paradise” at the First Street Gallery in NYC, curated by Steven Harvey. His work is represented by the the Ober Gallery in CT and The Vermont Metro Gallery and the Furchgott Sourdiffe Gallery in VT. Salerno has received faculty grants to attend the Fine Arts Work Center, the Stonington Painters Workshop, and the Vermont Studio Center from Johnson State College where he has been on the faculty since 1991.
