Kevin Appel is an artist based in Los Angeles. He received his MFA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his BFA from the Parson’s School of Design in New York. His work has been exhibited at the Ameringer McEnery Yohe Gallery, in New York; the Marianne Boesky Gallery, in New York; the Christopher Grimes Gallery, in Santa Monica; Susanne Vielmetter Los Angeles Projects, in Culver City; Angles Gallery, in Los Angeles; and Acme Gallery, in Los Angeles; The Suburban, in Chicago; the Two Rooms Gallery, in Aukland, New Zealand; and Wilkinson Gallery, in London, England, among many others. Awards include the 2011 California Community Foundation Fellowship for Visual Artists and the Citibank Private Bank Emerging Artist Award, through the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art. His work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, Portland Art Museum, The New York Public Library, Walker Art Center, Rhode Island School of Design, Misumi Corporation in Tokyo, Harvard University’s Fogg Museum, The Logan Collection, and the Saatchi Collection.
