M. T. ANDERSON has published books for children, teens, and adults. His satirical science fiction novel Feed was a Finalist for the National Book Award and the winner of the L.A. Times Book Prize. His historical novel The Pox Party won the National Book Award in 2006. His most recent nonfiction book, Symphony for the City of the Dead: Dmitri Shostakovich and the Siege of Leningrad was a finalist for both the Massachusetts Book Prize and the Boston Globe / Horn Book Prize. His nonfiction journalism has appeared in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, and various other venues. He previously taught at Vermont College and was a fiction editor for 3rd bed, a journal of absurdist and surrealist writing. He divides his time between Cambridge and Central Vermont.
