The National Endowment of the Arts continuously provides substantial funding to Vermont Studio Center’s fellowship programs and we are truly grateful for their ongoing support. At our June 15th, 2019 Fellowship Deadline, we are excited to offer two (2) four-week VSC / NEA Artist Opportunity Fellowships. Each awarded visual artist will receive a $1,000 stipend to help cover expenses associated with a residency (such as travel, childcare, or lost wages). Fellows will be chosen based on the merits of their work through a rigorous jury process. Eligibility for this award requires applicants to provide financial documentation demonstrating need. For more information about application details and eligibility requirements, visit www.vermontstudiocenter.org/fellowships.
The deadline to submit an application is Saturday, June 15th, 2019 at 11:59pm, Eastern.
“During my time, I ran three different workshops, and developed ideas, props, and methods for many many more. I leave with a buzzing mind, a warmed heart, and confidence to continue this work. At the heart which is forming community. The workshops vary vastly but the grounding principle is creating intimacy, closeness and openness between participants.”
–Julianna Johnston, VSC/NEA Fellow
“I was fortunate to build strong relationships with writers and visual artists that motivated and challenged my studio practice. I would never experience a residency of this magnitude without the support of the NEA. Finding individuals invested in education and shared experience is inspiring and I hope to pay it forward.”
–Eliseo Casiano, VSC/NEA Fellow
