The Vermont Studio Center's Staff-Artist Program

The Vermont Studio Center's Staff-Artist Program presents emerging artists and writers with a unique opportunity to live and work at VSC for one year, engaging fully with the resident community and Visiting Artists and Writers in order to gain professional expertise, build creative community, and emerge with a strong direction in their artistic careers.

In exchange for a one-year commitment of 29 hours of work per week, VSC staff-artists receive room, board, studio space, full access to the VSC community, and a weekly stipend.  Each staff-artist completes their year with a solo exhibition or public reading.

All staff-artists must be age 21+, have an existing creative practice, an understanding of and desire to support VSC's mission, a valid driver's license, and be a U.S. citizen (or have a valid green card or work permit that covers the duration of the yearlong contract). Because it is very important for our staff-artists to understand the VSC community, only VSC alums are eligible for these positions.

Staff-artist positions are listed on our Board, Directors, & Staff page when available.
